Help

  • What is this?

  • A platform for students to seek help as well as help other students. It's an open community designed around school and college students.

  • Who is it for?

  • High school and college students! Sometimes, other students are better at teaching a specific concept than a teacher might be. We want to create a community of students who can help each other. We think a community of students will be able to help each other out much more effectively than a teacher might be able to. In most cases, the person answering your question may have also needed help at one point. As a result, he/she might be able to explain it in a much simpler way than your teacher.

  • What can I do?

  • You can ask questions related to school topics and answer existing ones. Your questions may be upvoted by others if they follow the guidelines for asking a good question. Similarly, your answers may be upvoted based on the content. Upvotes push your answer to the top of the page and increase the likelihood of others reading it.

  • What are subject tags?

  • Subject tags are question categories that are supported. When you ask a new question, you will be required to enter at least one tag that your question falls under.

For list of supported subject tags, read All Tags.

  • Why do I have to put subject tags in my profile?

  • We want to show you questions that are relevant to you. As a result, we ask that you tell us what subjects you find interesting. This helps us eliminate irrelevant questions and only show you questions that you want to see.

  • What subject tags can I use?

  • For list of supported subject tags, read All Tags.

  • How is my Stream arranged?

  • Your stream uses the subject tags in your profile to show you relevant questions. Question ranking is based on each question's current vote standing and date asked.

  • How do I post a question?

  • We want your answers to be seen by maximum amount of users possible. As the same time, we don't want to have duplicate questions. Instead, we believe there should be one place for all answers. This allows us to build a strong, content-based community that is clean and organized for future visitors. Therefore, we require that you search for your question in the search bar (white textbox at the top) before asking. When you search, we'll look for questions that are similar to yours and show them to you. This way, you will be able to read the answers on previous questions without having to ask again.

  • How do I answer a question?

  • On each question page, under the question details, there is a white box that says, "Compose an answer". You can type your answer there and hit "Post" when ready to submit.

  • How many times can I answer a question?

  • To help keep all the information organized and in one place, you can only answer once. Once you answer, if you need to make any changes, you can edit the answer by clicking the button. If you wish to delete your answer, you can click the .

  • Who can see the questions I post?

  • Your questions are visible to everyone. We believe having an open community will produce the best questions and answers. We don't want you to unknowingly block someone from answering your question who could explain the answer more effectively than those who are already able to answer your questions.

  • What's the voting meter for?

  • We think the users should differentiate between good and bad content. Thefefore, each question and answer has a voting meter. If you think a question/answer follows the guidelines, then upvote it. Think it doesn't follow the guidelines? Downvote it. We'll try to showcase the answers with most votes. Similarly, most-voted questions will likely trend on everyone's stream.

  • What's a group?

  • A group is a way to organize content by its author. If you only want to view questions and answers posted by those people that you are interested in, then you can create a new group and add them. When you visit the group page, you will only see content that was posted by the group members. This is especially useful if you would only like to work with your friends.

  • What's the difference between a public group and a private group?

  • A public group is a group that anyone can join. If you created a public group, anyone could visit the group page and join it. A private group, on the other hand, will only be visible to its members.
Note: Any content posted in a group is public, regardless of its privacy setting. For example, if you were to post a question inside a private (or public) group, anyone would be able to search for that question on the main site and answer it. Groups are only intended to be used for organizing the content you want to see.

  • How do I report spam?

  • We want to keep this place clean for everyone. As a result, we have implemented a set of rules that all questions and answers must follow. Find the spam link at top of each question

  • Can I give my feedback?

  • Yes! We would love to hear from you. You can send us feedback at any time by clicking your name at the top and hitting "Feedback".

  • What if I have more questions?

  • Not all questions can be covered on this page, so if you have more questions, you can either ask here or email us at student@generacity.com.
